As a small business, and working in tourism which is made up of small businesses, of course we are celebrating Queensland Small Business Week 28 May-1 June with two tourism industry workshops:

How To Plan Your Marketing To Generate Sales 

What:      4-hour bootcamp with networking afterwards
Date:       Wednesday May 30
Time:       10am – 2pm
Location: Strobe Studios, 58 Water St South, Toowoomba, QLD
Fee:          $125
Optional:  Follow-up one-on-one 2-hour mentoring session: $150
                 (in Toowoomba or by Skype)

In this hands-on workshop participants will learn how to increase sales and bookings using smart marketing tactics with the support of two tourism and marketing industry experts.

The workshop will cover:
•    An introduction to marketing tactics as a sales funnel to your website
•    Best practice case studies
•    Identify your ideal customer, key messages, communication channels (targeted marketing)
+ tactics to reach them (creative tactics + free tactics + remarketing)
•    Defining your conversion goals and how to evaluate your marketing activities
•    Creating your 12-month marketing action plan + budget 

Throughout the bootcamp participants will receive guidance on how to plan and budget to achieve desired results.

Optimising Your Digital Assets and Online Listings

In this hands-on workshop participants will learn how to make the best use of their digital assets and online listings with the support of two tourism and marketing industry experts.

The workshop will cover:
•    The purpose of your website as a sales funnel to get bookings or increase your database.
•    How to effectively use social media, Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW), TripAdvisor, and online newsletters.  
•    12-month content plan and calendar for social media activity

Cristy's unique career has taken her from country NSW to the city lights of Clarendon Street South Melbourne and back again. With an early career in radio as a copywriter and creative strategist, she is now a Jill of all trades as a graphic designer, website builder, blog writer, video editor, social media manager, marketing strategist and more. 

In fact, give her any task and this chick will figure out how to do it! Go on, we dare you!

Cristy has won two Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs) for Best Ad and Best Sales Promotion, and even has an 'Employee of the Year' certificate with her name on it.

Cristy and her husband James have traveled extensively through Russia, China and South East Asia, and have two fur-babies, Sooty (cat) and Panda (puppy). Cristy loves drinking coffee, meeting people to drink coffee, coffee tasting and coffee flavoured cocktails. She also enjoys road trips, TED Talks and watching cat videos on youtube.
